Adrien Casey The Volcano, The Tornado, & The Hourglass book back mix pile black and white

How can I get a copy of this book?

The best way is to order directly from this site’s store, which has both the softbound & e-book versions. However, please note that there is a currently a significant backorder time with softbound orders.

Is the paperback book exactly same as the e-book?

Almost but not quite. The Volcano, The Tornado, & The Hourglass was written & made to be a physical thing. That a section of the text is printed upside down & requires that the paper book be flipped over to be read informs the reading of the text itself. There’s also a two-page spread of a painting and a drawing that is designed to be seen as a spread— two images seen together in one glance— not one after the other, as occurs with the e-book format. The very formatting of the text— in terms both of typefaces & typesetting— was also something almost integral to the work itself, but unfortunately was unable to be converted into the electronic version. Lastly, there’s a drawing of a piece of tape in the margin of the Open Letter to the United Parcel Service that alas had to be omitted from the e-book.

That’s really too bad about that drawing of a piece of tape, I really wish I could’ve seen it.

Well, fortunately The Adirondack Review published the Open Letter as an excerpt, tape drawing & all, which can be seen at this page, with thanks to Angela.
